Dear Athletes,
On behalf of the Ironman Team, welcome to the 2010 Ford Ironman St. George! We are excited to be a part of the inaugural event, held in one of the most beautiful locations in the world.
The striking scenery of the St. George area provides a spectacular setting for the event. Athletes will enjoy swimming in the cool, clear waters of Sand Hollow reservoir and the challenge of a two-loop bike course that travels through Washington County. The bike course takes athletes from the red sandstonebluffs in the south to the edge of the Dixie National Forest in the north. The two-loop run includes downtown St. George and the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve. Visitors will enjoy the pristine beauty and refreshing activities in Zion National Park, Snow Canyon State Park and the local communities as well.
We would like to thank Washington County, the cities of St. George, Washington, Hurricane, Ivins and Santa Clara, as well as all of the agencies and volunteers in these communities who have come together to make this event possible.
Enjoy your time in southern Utah and good luck to you for a safe and successful race.
